Machaca - Los Ambulantes Release date 27th April 2010
On the 27th of April 2010 in London’s Purcell Room, Machaca launch their much awaited new album ‘Los Ambulantes’! A musical feast of works by Villa-Lobos, Piazzolla, Lauro, Machado, Iannarelli, Cardoso and the world premiere of a new work by Stephen McNeff especially written for Machaca!
Described as ‘a jewel’ by Gramophone Magazine, Machaca’s first album, ‘Mano a mano’ was released during La Linea 2007. La Linea 2010 is proud to host the launch of their much awaited sequel. Led by mexican guitarist Morgan Szymanski, Machaca consists of the UK’s finest young classical musicians including ODuo (percussion), Gemma Rosefield (cello), Lizzie Ball (violin), Phuong Nguyen (accordion) and Al Mobbs (bass). They will be joined by guests including Galo Cerón (guitar + cuatro) and rising star Adam Walker (flute).
